My dream

A fabric bag containing carrier bags which attaches to the back of supermarket trolleys and dispenses bags when you go through the check-out. This product stores away easily and re-uses bags, thereby helping reduce our carbon footprint.

How the idea came about

I can’t take credit for this – it was my wife’s idea. She found when you put carrier bags into a normal carrier bag they expand and by the time you’ve got to the check-out, they’ve gone everywhere. We had one of those long elastic things under the stairs that you put carriers’ bags into. She thought if someone could make a simpler version of that, a smaller version that we could take with shopping with us, that would be great.

Why I am on Tycoon

For my kids. Firstly, I want to be able to provide a great life for them. Secondly, I want to do something ethical and right for the environment. People are becoming more aware of their own personal carbon footprint. Statistics show that the average UK shopper uses enough carrier bags to produce enough carbon dioxide to fill three hot air balloons.
