Tycoon Show 4
Peter is threatening to close down the poorest performing business, leaving just three to go through to the final.
So the budding Tycoons are entering their final two weeks racing to create as much profit as possible.
At the start of the programme, Lauren has performed best having clinched a deal for the hair extension product.
But when her first shipment arrives from China with a glaring typing error on the label, she cannot send out any goods until she has sorted out the problem.
Despite this setback, she goes on to sell 150 units to Harrods.
Helen and Cathy’s gardening product range has not been selling as well as they hoped.
Nonetheless, they manage to launch the range in Harrods. They also clinch a meeting with Wyevale, a large gardening chain, although the buyer there won’t place an order until the duo drop their prices.
Justin starts the week well having secured a big order for his carrier bag holder from Tesco but Peter is concerned that Justin has now put his feet up.
With some coaxing, Justin secures a meeting – and possibly a big deal – at Sainsbury’s.
Iain starts the week in fourth place – but performs a spectacular turnaround.
The first shop to sell his micro-helicopter product on the High Street sells out the weekend they go on sale.
Then, three online shops put in an order for up to 850 pieces, followed by a massive 5,000 unit order by Argos.
So how have the entrepreneurs performed by the final investment meeting?
- First place: Iain has made £108,047 profit and Peter believes he is destined to be a million pound profit business within the year.
- Second place: Justin has made £46,880 profit and possibly more if Sainsbury’s can confirm their order
- Third place: Lauren has made £32,891 which still impresses Peter.
- Fourth place: Helen and Cathy have made £12,363, which leads them to think they are about to be closed down.
But in a surprise turn, Peter says he still believes in Helen and Cathy and says that all four businesses will go through to the public vote in the final show.
